Bobby Behan visits our farm

Bobby Behan (Specialized Factory Racing Team Manager) doing what he does best. What exactly is that? He says “I’m tinkin about work- and how to manage gobshites like Conrad”
We took Bobby farming. My dad (Gert Stoltz) dipping some of his 400 Bonsmara cattle. Summer is hectic tick and Blow fly season and cattle gets dipped and checked for maggots once or twice a week, depending on which part of the 5000 acre farm they are on.
Just about each cow has a name, bulls are lovingly whispered too, (unless they try to climb out of the cattle press) and calves are eagerly counted and considered as possible breeding stock. This is not only really hard work, its also a passion. And doesnt allow for much vacation. One of my dads favourite sayings: “Cattle dont know is Christmas, they get sick any time.”
We had lunch under a Wild Fig tree. Mangoes, banans, and sarmies. We wished for coffee…
We finally got all the cattle in the stone kraal built many generations ago…
Bobbys new friend- Bakkies the babboon catcher…Full moon just rose over Leutla.
Mossie- Bobbys bestest (and cutest) new friend. Shes a 60kg Boerboel. Thats 130lbs.

We went on a little bike ride - trying to gain some (any!) fitness for this weekends 4 day Sabie Experience we are riding together.
In true Caveman tradition, we raced the sun home.
The phone kept ringing: “Stupid FedEx is holding Susi’s bike in customs.” His office was on his knee because that spot there by the gate is the only place with cell reception. (Kind of)
My much talked about pool. Its ALMOST done. Really.

Wat hang in die 2de laaste pic oor die groen hek links van Bobby? Is dit tog nie ‘n klein fietsie nie? Hy kan mos sommer dit vir susi stuur.
Dink jy, jy sal in daardie pool kan float (eendag)? Moet hy nie dalk nog ‘n bietjie dieper nie? Oooo modderbad galore….sommer daar indie groente tuin?!

Wow!! What a nice place, great photos!! It’s almost possible to imagine you swimming in the hole… oh, I mean pool. I suppose there are no fence laws over there?
