Crash at XTERRA USA Champs

October 2nd, 2006 by Conrad Stoltz

I took a big tumble pre riding the XTERRA USA Champs this weekend. Went over the bars at high speed, landed on my head, splitting my helmet.

Fractured my wrist in 4 places, and I have a compression fracture of T12.

Having surgery to repair and plate the wrist in Reno on Wednesday, and will be wearing a back brace for 2 months to help the spine heal.

I’m in good spirits and am thankful to be able to make a full recovery.

I obviously wont be racing in Maui, and hope to travel home to South Africa in about 2 weeks, to be with my parents. (my dad has 5 more chemo treatments to go. Us cripples will farm from the stoep. “veranda” )

Those who know me well will agree that next year I’ll be back with renewed vigor.

Thanks a lot for your support.
