Caveman interview with TRS Radio
Caveman talks hunting & gathering on TRS radio.
When this was recorded, IM Kona, Oct 2014, @TheRealStarky was a only parody twitter account, and “The Real Starky” was still under cover. Being quite controversial and loose mouthed on twitter, it was intimidating sitting down for a podcast with TRS. However, once we met over beers, “Ben” turned out to be a baby faced nice guy, but also seriously sharp and curious. a “Sheep in wolves clothes” I called him. Dark Mark was a little shy, but I think we both had a bit of a man crush on each other. See, the humorous @_Dark_Mark twitter feed is my favourite toilet reading material.
Without further ado, here’s the interview:
“A long talk with a legend. Conrad sat down with us at the Huub house in Kona and talked to about his career, killing a baboon with his bare hands and eating road kill. Listen in on as Dark Mark and The Real Starky get to know this triathlon legend while consuming about a dozen beers. Conrad might be the most interesting man in the sport. Enjoy!”

The reason I havent blogged in a while is the lack of interwebs connection at our Kona condo. Been knocking out some amazing power numbers on the bike, and other than recovering and eating, havent found the energy to go blog. I find it hard hard to sit and blog from a coffee shop (Lava Java of course) squinting at the screen in the sun, with the stunning ocean views, Big Island pork pizza in one hand, typing with the other and ogling the sea of finely chisseled/ tanned/ tattoed/ coiffed Ironman bodies streaming by.
Back to the race.

Meet that Bobby Behan dude
Written by: Herbert Krabel
Date: Wed Mar 10 2010
[Many Pros really wanted to meet Bobby Behan the last few months when word got out that he was in charge of the new Specialized Triathlon team. But there was only so much space. Here is your chance to meet him.
Slowtwitch: Bobby, thank you very much for the chat.
Bobby: Herbert, thank you too. Always good touching base and I hope to see you at one of the upcoming events this year!
ST: Are you in Stellenbosch as we speak?
Bobby: I sure am. As I type I’m sitting on my stoop (SA terminology for porch), its evening time but still 30 Celsius (86F)!! Bliss!
ST: How often do you get tortured on rides, runs or swims by the Caveman Conrad Stoltz?
Bobby: Hmmm. The Caveman! I could write a book on him! Conrad has been a nocturnal creature lately so our training paths haven’t crossed!! He’s building his house during the day and training come nightfall! We did have a good coffee on Saturday morning! He hadn’t started training, yet I had finished a 2.5 hour ride. I suppose that’s one up for me! I did not make the MTB race on Sunday morning though, a race The Caveman won by over 11 minutes – that would have been torture!]
