Amber and I needed to get out of the condo and daily town life, so we headed up the Cascades and camped at the foot of Broken Top. We camped and trained at 2000m, (the same alt as Tahoe- XTERRA USA Champs is in 2 weeks) enjoying the nice weather and the changing colours of approaching of fall. (Autumn) I put in some really big sessions in fun surroundings- so it felt like holiday.

Amber and Kona going on a 3 hr ride. They both came back broken… They rode the famous Metolius Windigo and Flagline trails.

Kona didnt sleep so well- she was a little scared of the deer roaming around at night. Coffee and breakfast abrewin’ on the fire. Gotta love strong black coffee that tastes like fire smoke. I love cooking on the fire. For dinner I grilled (braaied) lamb chops and we klapped a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Of course, in true Caveman tradition, I try to carry everything at once.

Packing like crazy… »
