I pre rode with Josiah Middaugh<\/a>– (he’s on a 29er too!)about the be a dad in 3 weeks. I somehow showed him my lines- so Josiah, if you beat me this weekend- no more pre rides with the Caveman!<\/p>\n

The ART (Active Release Technique) practitioners are quite a close group in the US, my friend Mark DeJohn<\/a> (and Specialized soigneur at Sea Otter) suggested Dr Victor Leach in Las Vegas. I went by Vicor’s office straight from the airport, and was really grateful for some good treatment before the race.<\/p>\n

A cool quote from my coach, Ian Rodger: “Training is like fighting with a Gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the Gorilla is tired.\u00a0\u00a0 Hmm that sounds like stopping fighting Chuck only when Chuck is tired”<\/p>\n

Damn, I’m happy I dont have to race Shonny V- she is looking super fit!\u00a0 Lesley Paterson<\/a> had a flaming 70.3 at Oceanside, so the ladies’ race will be exciting…<\/p>\n
